Introduction

Starting with the basics, by the end of this course, you will be able to

  • Play connected notes at different positions on the guitar with smart knowledge of the fretboard

  • Start playing the 3 foundational elements of Indian Guitar Fluency, while observing best practices, preparing you to play fluently and efficiently now and in the future. Assessments and Corrections included.

Who is this course for?

If you are a beginner, advanced beginner, or someone who wishes to have strong fundamentals, competencies, and skills so that they can play with freedom in the future, without doubting their skills and talent, then this course is for you. In this course, I emphasize on "fluency" over just looking at tabs and repeating notes.
Please also note that this course focuses only on Indian music, there isn't any tutorial for western songs.

How is it done?

  • No confusion on the steps. No more youtube whirlpools. Just do the steps in the course one after the other. They have been made in such a way that you can practice forward even if you have only a few minutes to practice. This is NOT a content course. The steps are built after much effort and testing to make sure you have exact steps to learn and bring transformation instead of just information.

  • Assessments built in (video assignments and corrections) Have a look at the curriculum on this page. You will see steps marked Assess or Assignment. We have a built in system where you can send us the practice videos and get corrections along with regular self assessment. Go through the lessons and at each relevant step you have the option to send us a practice video - with mistakes and doubts. Instead of mindlessly repeating more without knowing what you need to focus on, you have access to my decades of playing and teaching experience. You will be told exactly what to focus on and correct so that whatever practice time you have is spent on deliberate error oriented practice that brings the best of results.

  • The focus is on the underlying mechanics, the real how to at a body level. The real techniques involved in getting the fluency. NOT just note peddling.

100% outcome guarantee

Try it out. See if this kind of clarity will help you. If it doesn’t work for ANY reason, just let us know in 14 days and we will give a FULL REFUND, no questions asked. (Any time write to me: shyam@musicianself.com)
In my experience when a student puts in the effort and follows the path, they will get outcomes. Of course, if the teaching method doesn’t work for you and if the directions are not followed, my outcome guarantee has no meaning.

How you benefit from the course

Often, our talent and ability is questioned, (do I have the talent? am I too old?) while the real reasons are:

Lack of correct teaching material for your interests:

  • Generic guitar courses will not meet your dream of playing Indian songs.

  • Youtube whirlpool sucks you in, wasting time and effort with no results to show.

  • You quit, bored from random exercise, not connecting your practice to what really matters to you.

Lack of learning and teaching frameworks for our needs:

  • Available Indian guitar content doesn't help you play fluently like it is sung.

  • You don't want to hit music, but play music.

  • More practice without knowing what exactly to correct at a body level, will not improve your playing.

Teaching source's lack of knowledge:

  • Guitar teaching is often paying for time vs training for competencies and skills that matter.

  • Most teaching is just remember and repeat, questioning your intelligence.

Hence, what I wish to impart with this course is not just basic guitar knowledge, but a succinct guide to play Indian guitar and to understand what being "fluent" with a musical instrument feels like. Along with the traditional repetitive practice, you will also understand the "why" behind your practice, which will allow you to play the guitar even more freely.

In my experience when a student puts in the effort and follows the path, they will get outcomes. Of course, if the teaching method doesn’t work for you and if the directions are not followed, my outcome guarantee has no meaning.
